ABOUT SUGARING
WHAT IS SUGARING?
Sugaring is an ancient technique of hair removal using a 100% natural and water-soluble sugar paste made up of lemon juice, water and sugar. It’s so natural that you can even eat it (we have a sugar tub in-studio just for tasting!).
Extracting hair in the natural direction of growth, sugaring is said to be less painful than common waxing or sugar waxing methods. The sugar paste is applied at body temperature and only removes dead skin cells, which means that scalding is never an issue, and the chances of skin abrasion, hair breakage and ingrown hairs are minimised. This leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth as opposed to red and irritated.

SUGARING ZONES
FACIAL ZONES
Please note that eyebrows are NOT included in full face sugaring and that we highly recommend coming in for a patch test for more sensitive, histamine-reaction-prone areas like cheeks, forehead and sometimes even upper + lower lip.

SUGARING VS WAXING
SUGARING
Sugar paste is simply made out of lemon juice, sugar and water.
INGREDIENTS
WAXING
Most waxes are made with chemical ingredients, mainly resins and preservatives.
SUGARING
Sugar paste is applied at body temperature and will not burn your skin.
TEMPERATURE
WAXING
Wax must be heated to a high degree and can cause burning or scarring of skin.
SUGARING
You will never leave a sugaring session feeling sticky.
CLEANLINESS
WAXING
Wax needs oil or chemical solvents to remove residue left on skin.
SUGARING
Sugaring removes hair in the direction of growth, resulting in much more refined regrowth.
REGROWTH
WAXING
Waxing removes hair against the grain, which can cause breakage, leading to ingrowns.
SUGARING
Sugaring is safe for all skin conditions, even sensitive types with eczema.
SUITABILITY
WAXING
Waxing is not 100% safe for any skin type.
SUGARING
Sugar is bacteria resistant.
BACTERIA
WAXING
Bacteria breeds in wax warmers.
SUGARING
A ball of sugar paste can be used repeatedly on different parts of your body.
ENVIRONMENT
WAXING
Waxing with cloth strips and sticks creates far more environmental waste.
